Recall Alert: Mercedes-Benz GLE, GLS

The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLS from a front quarter angleMercedes-Benz is recalling about 161,000 SUVs because loose window trim can detach and fall off while driving, becoming a road hazard.

The recall affects certain 2020-2022 GLE and GLS models, including AMG and Maybach variants. Mercedes tells federal safety regulators the company changed the design of the rear window trim during the production run for both vehicles. The company believes that some trim pieces may have been installed incorrectly after the change.

Dealers will inspect the rear window trim and replace or secure it if necessary.
